The invention discloses a mail receiving method and device, wherein the method comprises the steps of: comparing the sending mailbox address of a mail with pre-stored mailbox addresses in a pre-set white list; and, when the sending mailbox address of mail is matched with a pre-stored mailbox address in the pre-set white list, receiving the mail, and otherwise, refusing the mail. According to the mail receiving method and device provided in the embodiment of the invention, the sending mailbox address of the mail is compared with the pre-stored mailbox addresses in the pre-set white list; when the sending mailbox address of mail is matched with a pre-stored mailbox address in the pre-set white list, the mail is received; and otherwise, the mail is refused; therefore, the mail can be sent toa user only in the sending mailbox address in the pre-set white list; all kinds of junk mailboxes are shielded; the user is prevented from being harassed by junk mails; and simultaneously, the junk mail storage space occupation problem at a server side can be reduced.
