Abstract

The invention discloses an urban VANET multihop broadcasting method based on competition and finite-state machine. States of each node comprises an N state which indicates that no message is received;a P state which indicates with the message may be received; and an R state which indicates that the message is determined to be received already. A source node knowing an accident builds an emergencymessage carrying a sending node list and broadcasts the same, and sets the own state to be R; if the state of a neighbor node is N, N is changed to be P; a node receiving the emergency message firstly finds the sending node of the message and the nodes in the sending node list included by the message in a local neighbor list, and if the nodes exist, the states of the nodes are set to be R. Then the receivers compute respective waiting time according to relative distances and communication quality with the previous hop node. The node of which the waiting time ends firstly updates and broadcasts the emergency message, and the new message can be regarded as an implicit ACK. If the neighbor with the state that is not R exists, the sender may retransmit after timeout. The method provided by the invention is applicable to multiple network topologies, and ensures real-time and reliable transmission of the emergency message in the whole network.
