Abstract

The invention discloses an intelligent fan control method and system applied to a server. The method comprises the steps of judging whether the temperature of a server mainboard exceeds a set threshold value or not; if yes, according to the temperature of the server mainboard, utilizing a CPLD for controlling the rotating speed of a fan; if not, according to the decibel value of sound of the server fan, utilizing the CPLD for controlling the rotating speed of the fan. The system comprises a temperature threshold value judging module, a temperature control module and a decibel control module. By means of the method and system, the fan noise can be lowered to the maximum extent when it is ensured that the temperature of the server mainboard is within the reasonable range, and the user experience is improved while heat dissipation of the server is not affected.
