Abstract

The application discloses a synchronization method and apparatus. The method includes steps: a terminal receives a system message on a first downlink carrier, wherein the system message comprises a first indication message and a second indication message, the first indication message indicates a frequency domain range of a first uplink carrier, the second indication message indicates a frequency domain range of a second downlink carrier, and the frequency between the first uplink carrier and the second downlink carrier is pre-synchronized; and the terminal receives a synchronizing signal on the second downlink carrier to obtain frequency synchronization with the first uplink carrier. By employing the synchronization method, in an NR-LTE coexistence, the terminal can obtain frequency synchronization with the LTE uplink carrier so that the terminal can perform uplink transmission by employing frequency domain resources in the LTE uplink carrier, the coverage capability of the NR networkis enhanced, and the utilization rate of the resources of LTE authorized spectrums is increased.
