Abstract

Mechanisms for beamforming using antenna arrays are provided. The method is executed by a network node. The method includes obtaining, from the wireless device, a precoding matrix indicator to be used for transmission to the wireless device. The method includes selecting a codebook from a set of codebooks based on the received indicator, wherein the selected codebook defines a precoding matrix, and wherein the set of codebooks includes a set of codebooks defining variable beamwidths and having the same number of beamwidths for all beamwidths.
