The method comprises the steps of determining a travelling state of one to-be-analyzed ship; when the travelling state is a one-way steady travelling state, calculating an altitude angle of the to-be-analyzed ship, obtaining a one-dimensional range image of the to-be-analyzed ship; selecting a target one-dimensional range image with the maximum similarity to the one-dimensional range image from a one-dimensional range image simulation database built in advance according to the altitude angle and the one-dimensional range image and taking the type of the ship with the target one-dimensional range image with the maximum similarity as the type of the to-be-analyzed ship.
