The method is a qualitative analysis method which comprises the following steps that: on the basis of a Thevenin equivalent circuit identified by a harmonic wave source, through mathematical derivation, obtaining a function relationship among the harmonic wave active power, the harmonic wave reactive power and the harmonic wave source parameter of the PCC, and exporting six sufficient conditions for PCC harmonic wave source positioning and one sufficient condition for PCC primary harmonic wave source positioning; therefore, according to a harmonic wave current spectrogram, determining characteristic harmonic wave, when harmonic wave source positioning is carried out, temporarily cutting off all power factor compensation capacitors, and obtaining the equivalent harmonic wave impedance parameters of the system side and the load side of the characteristic harmonic wave ofthe PCC; and finally, according to the active power reactive tendency chart of the characteristic harmonic wave, utilizing seven sufficient conditions to realize the harmonic wave source positioning of the PCC.
