An observation device, an observation method, and a storage medium are provided. This observation method comprises: changing imaging position of theimage sensor, and measuring temperature inside the observation device and outputting this measurement result as measured temperature, and when controlling imaging position of the image sensor and operation of the image sensor, causing execution of an operating sequence that repeatedly executes change of imaging position of the image sensor and an imaging operation of the image sensor, and transferring to a halt sequence, where the operating sequence is stopped if the measured temperature exceeds a given threshold value, and where a state in which change of imaging position of the image sensorand an imaging operation are prohibited continues for a given time.
