Abstract

The invention discloses a test device for researching the propagation characteristic of elastic p-wave in a joint rock mass. The test device comprises a shooting system, a loading system, and a measuring system. A pipeline of a shooting cavity is made from a high-strength insulating material. Bullets are composed of an armature and a metallic bullet body. A power system uses magnetic waves generated by alternating current to drive the bullets. The initial speed of the bullets can be changed by changing a discharge voltage, so that the propagation characteristic of the elastic p-wave with different initial wave speeds in the joint rock mass can be obtained, and the propagation characteristic of the elastic p-wave with different initial waveforms can be obtained by adjusting the shape of thebullets. The measuring system uses a strain gage to measure the local displacement of the rock, so as to obtain a wave speed change. The measurement system also adopts a digital image processing technique. The two measured data are compared to ensure the accuracy of the test.
