Abstract

A first error detection code (EDC) is calculated based on a first section of the information block to be encoded, and a second EDC is calculated based on at least a second section of the information block. The first EDC is masked using the first masking segment and the second EDC is masked using the second masking segment to generate a first masked EDC and a second masked EDC. The first masked segment and the second masked segment are associated with the intended receiver of the information block. A codeword is generated based on the code and an input vector comprising the first segment, the first masked EDC, the second segment and the second masked EDC. For example, this type of encoding can be used to support early termination of blind detection at the decoder.
