Abstract

The invention discloses a quick breeding method of a high-combining-ability rice three-line sterile line. Rice recessive nucleic sterile material YNS is used as a female parent hybridized and selfed with multiple conventional rice three-line restorers; an isolated sterile plant close to the restorers in trait is used as a female parent for continued back-crossing and selfing with the restorers; asterile line that is stable and basically consistent to the restorers in trait is attained. On this basis, the sterile lines are used as female parents for test crossing with bred stable maintainer lines; the maintainer lines with high combining ability are screened out according to comprehensive agronomic traits of test crossing F1; corresponding three-line sterile lines are further bred. The method herein enables combining ability of three-line sterile lines to be measured and screened in advance; the maintainer lines with poor combining ability are removed; the three-line sterile lines withhigh combining ability are effectively bred; the breeding cost and risk are decreased.
