The irrigation system comprises: a humidity sensor, a host, a first solenoid valve, a water pump, a timer, and a pipeline.The humidity sensor is fixed in the soil of an area where plants are located; a plant irrigation data table is stored in the host; the plant irrigation data table includes humidity data and pH valuedata of each species of plants for each month; a data output end of the humidity sensor and the timer are both connected to an input end of the host; the host is used for determining current irrigation volume of plants according to the detection data of the humidity sensor and humidity data of the plant irrigation data table; an output end of the host is connected with an input end of the solenoidvalve, an output end of which is connected with a control end of the water pump, a water outlet of which is connected with the pipeline; the pipeline is laid in the area where plants are located; andthe hose is used for adjusting on-off time of the solenoid valve according to the irrigation volume so as to further adjust the opening time of the water pump.
