The problem can be solved by a harmful flying insect attractant characterized by comprising: (A) an aliphatic alcohol having 2 to 6 carbon atoms inclusive and / or (E) an aliphatic acid ester having 3 to 8 carbon atoms inclusive; and (H) a specific carboxylic acid that is a keto acid or a hydroxy acid each having 3 to 5 carbon atoms inclusive or aceticacid. The attracting effect can be enhanced by using the harmful flying insect attractant in combination with a food such as a sugar, a fruit, a fruit processed product, a dairy product, a seafood processed product, a seafood extract, an edible meat processed product, an edible meat extract, an alcohol beverage, distillers' grains and cereal.
