According to the diagnostic criteria for Alzheimer's disease, all patients underwent standardized diagnostic tests from the National Institute of Neurological and Communication Disorders and Stroke and the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, with detailed medical histories, physical examinations, corresponding examinations, and functional assessments. Subjects with associated cerebrovascular disease or traumatic brain injury, unconscious subjects were excluded from the study. Informed consent was obtained from all persons before any data collection. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University (Zhanjiang, China).

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of disease biomarker screening and particularly relates to a method for screening a biomarker for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease. The method comprises thefollowing steps of (S1) respectively obtaining excrement from an Alzheimer's disease patient and a health reference person, (S2) respectively extracting coprophilous fungus outer membrane vesicles ofthe excrement obtained in the step (S1) and purifying, (S3) respectively carrying out GC-MS analysis on metabolites of the coprophilous fungi outer membrane vesicles purified in the step (S2) by usinga gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, and (S4) analyzing the GC-MS data obtained in the step S3 and screening out a differential metabolite, namely the biomarker for diagnosing the Alzheimer's disease. The method has great significance to the diagnosis of the Alzheimer's disease.
