Abstract

The invention relates to a converter and a method for replacing an electric energy meter without cutting off the power by using the converter. The converter comprises a housing, a transition conversion plug-in and a self-locking plug-in, wherein the transition conversion plug-in and the self-locking plug-in are fixedly arranged on the housing. One end of the transition conversion plug-in is used for being electrically connected with a power inlet wire and a power outlet wire, and the other end of the transition conversion plug-in is used for being electrically connected with a wiring hole of the electric energy meter; and the self-locking plug-in is electrically connected with the transition conversion plug-in. When the electric energy meter needs to be replaced, the self-locking plug-in can be conducted to realize short circuit of the power inlet wire and the power outlet wire; and at the moment, the electric energy meter to be replaced is disconnected with the power inlet wire and the power outlet wire, and power can be directly supplied to a user through the converter. The converter provided by the invention can realize replacement of the electric energy meter without cutting off the power, thereby reducing complaints of users caused by power failure due to non-technical faults, and improving service satisfaction of enterprises.
