The invention discloses a parameter setting method for an intercooler simulation model based on an improved particle swarm algorithm, and the method comprises the steps: calibrating a bench experiment, and obtaining n groups of parameter data of an intercooler; building an intercooler simulation model and a simulation platform; establishing an optimization objective function of parameter setting;and generating a primary particle swarm by taking the throttle orifice diameter information of the intercooler as particle position information, and optimizing the throttle orifice diameter of the intercooler by adopting an improved particle swarm algorithm. Based on an improved particle swarm algorithm, the method can achieve the setting of the diameter of the throttling hole of the intercooler,enables the front and rear pressure difference of the intercooler to be closer to an actual parameter, and improves the credibility of a simulation model to the maximum degree.
