Abstract

The invention provides a method for performing submarine speed and diameter estimation by utilizing a SAR image. The method comprises the following steps of reading the SAR image containing submarineturbulence trail; acquiring turbulence trail semi-width curves of different submarine diameters; calculating the least square error, wherein the least error is the corresponding submarine diameter; and performing submarine speed estimation. Through the method provided by the invention, the inversion research is performed based on the actual data, the capacity of scouting a submarine target througha SAR satellite can be favorably improved without depending on the laboratory flume experiment and hydrodynamic calculation, and the method gets closer to the engineering application.

Description

technical field

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the field of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) marine remote sensing detection, and in particular to a method for estimating the velocity and diameter of a submarine using SAR images. Background technique

[0002] The penetration ability of microwave to seawater is only on the order of centimeters, and microwave submarine detection is the remote sensing detection of the wake generated by the moving submarine. The region where the submarine passes causes weak contrast anomalies on the sea surface (usually called wakes), resulting in changes in the scattering characteristics and spatial structure of the sea surface. When the wavelength of the radar incident electromagnetic wave is close to the order of magnitude of its scale, the so-called Bragg scattering will be generated, so that stronger radar echo signal. The underwater movement of a submarine will produce a wake feature on the sea surface (free surface). This wake fe...
