The icebreaker includes a ship body, wherein an excavation space with a leftward opening is formed in the ship body; a drivingcavity is formed in the right side of the excavating space; at first, a water pump and an engine are started, and then water is sucked into a water tank through a heating pipeline; and a large amountof heat can be generated after the engine is started. Compared with a large icebreaker, the icebreaker is small in size, and does not need to conduct ice breaking through the gravity of the ice breaker; meanwhile, due to the fact that small rivers are frozen to be thin, the problem of resource waste caused by thin ice breaking of a large ice breaker is solved; and meanwhile, as ice blocks are broken through the rotatable excavator, the icebreaker can prevent the situation that the power of the ice breaker is not enough and ice breaking is difficult.
