Embodiment Construction
[0020] Reference numeral 5 in Fig. 1 denotes a fuel injector for an internal combustion engine. The injector 5 comprises a generally cylindrical hollow body 6 fitted together by a ring nut 7 with a nozzle 8 having one or more orifices 9 at the end of the nozzle 8 . The hollow body 6 has a cylindrical interior 10 comprising a top 11 of smaller diameter forming a seat for axially guiding the end 15 of an axially movable control rod 12 , the control rod 12 acts on the disk 13 of the needle valve 14 used to close the nozzle opening 9 .
[0021] The nozzle 8 includes an injection chamber 16 which communicates via a tube 17 in the nozzle 8 and a tube 18 in the hollow body 6 with a high pressure fuel supply chamber generally indicated at 19 and described in more detail below. Needle valve 14 includes a shoulder 20 at injection chamber 16 .
[0022] According to the invention, the hollow body 6 comprises a transverse arm 21 with a cylindrical cavity 22 whose axis is radial to the ax...
