Abstract

The invention provides a washing machine capable of suppressing reduction of strength and rigidity of an outer box even if the outer box is thinned. The washing machine is provided with an outer box,a water containing barrel contained in the outer box, an anti-vibration component for supporting the water containing barrel, and reinforcing components for reinforcing the outer box. The front face,the left face and the right face of the outer box or the rear face, the left face and the right face of the outer box are each composed of a metal plate. The left and right surfaces of the outer box are provided with a plurality of concave reinforcing narrowed parts which protrude towards the inner side of the outer box or convex reinforcing narrowed parts which protrude towards the outer side ofthe outer box. The reinforcing components are provided at corners of the outer box, and the narrowed sections for reinforcement are provided so as to extend further toward the front side or the rear side than at least one end of the reinforcing components.
