Embodiment Construction

[0041] With the increased deployment of wireless communication systems within buildings, in particular, radio frequency (RF) fingerprint based tracking systems can be used to determine the location of persons or their mobile end devices within buildings. Based on 802.11 wireless communication standard - Wi-Fi - or Bluetooth ® The wireless communication of the method is particularly suitable for the generation of "radio fingerprints" that correlate measured RF signal properties with positions within a given space. Measurement of the characteristics of the received RF signal by a portable device carried by the user (e.g., the user's mobile phone or other portable computing device) as the user moves through space enables the generation of radio fingerprints by determining where This profile of changing signal characteristics is used to determine and track the user's location. A method for generating a radio fingerprint, for configuring a radio fingerprint, and for determining a ...

Abstract

A method is provided for configuring a tracking system which estimates a location within a space by comparison of measurements of RF signals, made at the location, with a radio fingerprint map of thespace. Estimated locations are correlated with synchronised detections of presence of a user (30) by sensors of a lighting system. RF signal measurements made by a user at a given time may thereby beassociated with a user (30) detected at the same time in one or more respective sensing areas of lighting system sensors. The user (30) making RF signal measurements at a determined location may thereby be associated with a user (30) detected by the lighting system sensors at the same time. The association may be used to configure the radio fingerprint map. The location of the detected user (30) as determined by the tracking system may be provided to the lighting system.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to a lighting system, a method and a computer program for identifying a detected user of the lighting system. Background technique [0002] Lighting systems - for example by the applicant in hue ® Wireless lighting systems produced under the brand - employ sensors to detect the presence of a user and respond to this detected presence according to user-defined configurations. [0003] Although such lighting systems include sensors capable of detecting the presence of users within various sensing areas, they are generally not capable of determining the location of a user of the lighting system with greater accuracy. [0004] Sensors are known to detect objects in an interior space, such as those disclosed in US 2014 / 084165 A1 and WO 2016 / 064562 A2. [0005] EP3092830 A1 discloses an application server that provides a user of a mobile device with a functional location-based service to control an environment, such as a ligh...
