Embodiment Construction

[0027] As noted above, selecting a delivery system for delivering a device via a catheter is a challenging task. For example, depending on the patient's anatomy, certain catheters may or may not be used to deliver the device, since each catheter has its own maximum bend and has one or two a bend. This means that it is possible that the wrong catheter is selected to deliver the device. Therefore, during a procedure, when the catheter fails to reach the correct position during the procedure, the medical professional may need to replace the catheter, resulting in increased procedure time in the catheterization room, radiation exposure to both the staff and the patient increase, and material waste increases.

[0028] Accordingly, certain embodiments herein provide systems and methods for planning the delivery of a subject via a catheter, such as the transseptal delivery of a prosthetic mitral valve to a patient's heart. In some embodiments, the systems and methods allow for suc...

Abstract

Systems and methods for planning delivery of an object via a catheter, such as transseptal delivery of a prosthetic mitral valve to a patient's heart are disclosed.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority to Dutch Patent Application No. 2021849 filed on 22 October 2018. The content of this application is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present application relates to systems and methods for catheter-based interventions. In some embodiments, the present application relates more particularly to systems and methods for planning the delivery of a subject via a catheter, such as the transseptal delivery of a prosthetic mitral valve to a patient's heart. Background technique [0004] The human heart is a complex organ with many working parts that are critical to the proper functioning of the heart providing blood circulation throughout the body. The human heart normally consists of four empty chambers: the right atrium, right ventricle, left atrium, and left ventricle. One of the keys to a properly functioning heart is regulating blood flow thr...
