Abstract

The present application relates to a method for detecting small and weak infrared targets using trajectory constraints. The method includes using spatial cues to treat target candidate detection as a binary classification problem. Object candidates are detected in each frame by pixel-of-interest detection and a trained lightweight gradient boosting machine model. Then, with temporal cues, the local smoothness and global continuity of the target trajectory are modeled as short hard constraints and long loose constraints. Using the trajectory constraints in the image sequence, infrared aerial small targets are detected from candidate targets in each frame. Adopting the method can improve the accuracy of the detection result, and at the same time, the method is simple and has better practicability.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates to the technical field of infrared weak and small target detection, in particular to a method for detecting infrared weak and small targets using trajectory constraints. Background technique [0002] Infrared detection has the advantages of all-day, all-weather work, and high resolution. Therefore, infrared detection systems have been widely used in early warning and guidance of air platforms. Due to the existence of fast relative motion and background clutter, the detection of weak and small targets in the air has always been a difficult problem for airborne infrared detection systems. [0003] Existing detection methods for small infrared targets can be divided into single-frame-based methods and multi-frame-based continuous detection methods. Single-frame-based methods mainly use the difference between the target and the background to detect weak and small infrared targets. Weak and small infrared targets are usuall...
