The method comprises the following steps: decomposing an underlying network into an edge subnet and a core subnet according to a k-Core algorithm; constructing a fault propagation model according to the mapping relation between the virtual network and the underlying network; according to a first preset condition, obtaining the fault credibility of each underlying network node in the underlying network; according to the fault credibility and a second preset condition, calculating to obtain a suspected fault set of the fault propagation model; merging and de-duplicating the suspected fault sets of the fault propagation models of the edge subnet and the core subnet; and carrying out descending processing on the processed suspected fault set to obtain a final suspected fault set. According to the method, network node fault credibility evaluation and suspected fault set calculation can be respectively performed on the edge subnet and the core subnet according to the topological characteristics of the underlying network and the characteristics of the fault propagation model, so the efficiency of a virtual network service fault diagnosis algorithm is improved.
