The invention discloses an auxiliary starting device for a vertical axis wind turbine support arm, which comprises a wind turbine rotating shaft, wherein the wind turbine rotating shaft is vertically arranged and the bottom of the wind turbine rotating shaft is rotatably connected with a wind turbine base; a support arm upper part, wherein one end of the support arm upper part is connected with the wind turbine rotating shaft, and the other end of the support arm upper part is connected with a blade; a support arm lower part which is rotatably connected to the lower surface of the support arm upper part, the support arm lower part can be rotatably unfolded or folded relative to the support arm upper part, when the support arm lower part is in an unfolded state, the support arm lower part naturally droops and forms an included angle with the support arm upper part, and when the support arm lower part is in a folded state, the support arm lower part is retracted into the support arm upper part; and locking units which are arranged on the support arm upper part and the support arm lower part.
