Abstract

The present disclosure is directed to a battery module (20) having an outer housing (30) configured to receive a plurality of electrochemical cells (32), in which the outer housing (30) has a wall (64) including an inner surface (106) facing a cavity formed by the outer housing (30), an outer surface (75) opposite to the inner surface (106), and an opening (62) extending through the wall (64). The battery module (20) also includes a connector barrel (60) configured to be disposed in the opening (62) of the wall (64), wherein the connector barrel (60) has a first open end (70), a second open end (72), and a body (68) forming a hollow interior (154) between the first open end (70) and the second open end (72), the connector barrel (60) has a flange (100) disposed on the body (68) and extending outwardly from the body (68), and the flange (100) has a plurality of ridges (102) configured to abut the wall (64).
