Abstract

The present invention relates to a polymer blend based on a PEDEK-PEEK copolymer which effectively provides an excellent combination of improved strength and modulus and improved ductility at high temperatures and is imparted beneficial partial miscibility behavior due to the advantages of the PEDEK-type units in the copolymer (PEDEK-PEEK) and blending with a polyphenylsulfone polymer (PPSU), this is unexpected and advantageous, not only maintaining the similar high temperature resistance of the polymer (PPSU) component, but also avoiding a reduction in phase separation and/or crystallization rate as well as a loss of high temperature performance.
