According to several aspects, the motor vehicle 12 defines a self-driving taxi having a first seat member 18 opposite a second seat member 20 located within the passenger cabin 14 . The motor vehicle 12 is not limited to autonomous taxis, and may be configured as passenger vehicles such as sedans, sport utility vehicles, pickup trucks, commercial trucks, vans, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, etc. The number and configuration of seats within the motor vehicle 12 may vary from figure 1 shown. At least one door 22 provides entry and exit to and from the cabin 14 for at least one passenger.

Abstract

A self-cleaning modular floor system for a motor vehicle includes a self-cleaning modular assembly positioned in a passenger cabin of the motor vehicle and including a tread portion having a first face and an oppositely directed second face. When directed upward, the first face of the tread portion defines a first position of the tread portion on which waste items are collected during operation of the motor vehicle. The tread portion selectively moves from a first position to a second position having a downwardly directed first face and an upwardly directed second face. A waste collection tray is positioned below the tread portion to receive the waste item when the tread portion is in the second position.
