Therefore, ADC 84 requires much less dynamic range, thereby reducing the word length of ADC 84 and reducing the overall cost of the receiver.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a wireless communication receiver, and it is characterized by that in said receiver a digital filter is utilized to filter the digital signal from ADC, and a preset quantity of residual interference in said digital signal can be attenuated, so that the allowable power of the quantized noise produced by said ADC can be broadened to a predefined value so as to reduce the dynamic range of ADC. The numerical value of predefined quantized noise is higher than numerical value defined by said receiver sensitivity, and the numerical value of total interference of said receiver can be retained in the numerical value which is not higher the allowable one. Because the dynamic range of ADC is reduced, its correspondent ADC word length also is reduced, so that the cost of ADC is reduced, cost of signal processing modules afte ADC are reduced and the whole cost of said receiver also is reduced.
