Problems solved by technology

[0009] When using a common pilot channel to calculate the path weights of a data channel to be demodulated, the channel characteristics of the physical transport channel are undeniably measured more or less properly, however, this causes the data signal The problem that the transmitter power adjustment of the path is neglected, and this results in a loss of performance in the further process of combining the signal, especially during its decoding

Embodiment 1

[0060] Embodiment 1: In the example of a rake receiver, the decision variable z of the DSCH data symbol DSCH (k) (that is, the output variable from the combiner) is governed by the sum of all the path contributions:

[0061] z DSCH ( k ) = Σ m = 1 M W DSCH ; m * ( k ) x DSCH ; m ( k ) Equation (9a)

[0062] in Equation (10a)

[0063] Therefore, the weights W used in the receiver DSCH;m (k) typically includes the composite channel coefficient W DSCH a DSCH;m (k), if a "true" MRC is implemented, then the weights can be ...

Embodiment 2

[0071] The situation of embodiment two is as follows:

[0072] If only the data components (field D, DATA) in the DPCH channel are considered, then the decision variable z of a rake receiver DATA (k) is governed by a weighted sum of all path contributions:

[0073] z DATA ( k ) = Σ m = 1 M W DATA ; m * ( k ) x DATA ; m ( k ) Equation (9b)

[0074] in

[0075] Equation (10b)

[0076] In this example, the weights W used DATA;m (k), which typically includes the composite channel coefficient W DATA a D;m (k), and if a "t...

Abstract

A method for calculation of path weights for the equalization of a data signal that is transmitted via a data channel whose power is regulated in a RAKE receiver is disclosed. In the method, at least one uncorrected path weight is calculated for the data signal that is transmitted via the data channel, using channel estimation results that have been obtained on the basis of a common pilot channel. The uncorrected path weight is corrected by multiplying it by a correction factor that contains a ratio of a data-channel-specific gain estimation to a pilot-channel-based gain estimation.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a calculation method and device for equalizing path weights of a data signal transmitted via a power-adjusted data channel in a RAKE receiver . Background technique [0002] A typical receiver concept used in a CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) transmission system is the so-called rake receiver, and the method of operating the rake receiver is to add weighted and synchronized The signal contribution in the form of , and arrive at the receiver via different transmission paths, and for this purpose, the rake receiver has some "fingers", and the output of these fingers will be connected to a combiner, during operation the fingers are associated with individual propagation paths and perform path-specific demodulation transformations (delay by path weights, despreading, symbol formation, multiplication), and The combiner superimposes signal components that have traveled through different propagation paths and are associ...
