Abstract

The disposable excrement management device has a longitudinal centerline, a transverse centerline, a wearer-facing surface, and an opposing surface. Disposable waste management devices include a flexible bag for containing waste and an adhesive flange for attaching the device to the wearer's body. The pliable bag has an opening surrounded by an adhesive flange. The adhesive flange has an outer perimeter and an inner perimeter. The adhesive flange includes an adhesive layer and a substrate. The substrate has at least one bottom slit extending along the longitudinal centerline from the outer periphery to the inner periphery. Alternatively, the adhesive layer may have a surface slit extending from the outer periphery to the inner periphery along the longitudinal centerline, the surface slit being located between the anus and the urethral opening when the device is worn.
