Abstract

The present invention relates to a receiver that performs iterative decoding by using a log-likelihood ratio (LLR) approximation scheme, and to a signal processing method thereof. According to the invention, a new approximation method is provided in order to calculate the basic equations, which includes exponential and logarithmic calculations to correct errors caused by channel imperfections, thus keeping the complexity low and reducing performance degradation.
