Embodiment Construction

[0014] The invention will now be described in more detail with reference in part to exemplary embodiments illustrated in the accompanying drawings.

[0015] FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a transponder 1 including an antenna 2 and a ROM memory 3 . Also shown in FIG. 1 is a communicator 4 with antennas 5 , 6 , memory 7 , processor 8 , and data system 9 . The interrogation signal 10 and the echo-modulated reply signal 11 are also shown in FIG. 1 .

[0016] A preferred embodiment of the invention consists in a method characterized in that the calculation of the checksum is made based on an algorithm which is the same for one group of transponders and different compared to other groups of transponders.

[0017] Yet another preferred embodiment of the invention resides in a method in which a calculation according to said algorithm is caused to take place in the communicator 4 whenever the transponder 1 is read, and in which the calculated checksum is compared with that obta...

Abstract

The invention relates to a method relating to an identification system, wherein a transponder reflects an interrogation signal from a communicator, wherein said reflected signal has been modulated by data readable by the communicator, and wherein said modulation carrying data comprises Checksum calculated on data in transponder memory. The invention is characterized in that the checksum is stored permanently in the memory of the transponder. The invention also relates to an answering machine.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method related to an identification system, and also relates to an identification system. Background technique [0002] The present invention relates to the control of individuals and authorized personnel with respect to businesses, places requiring authorized access, airports, places of interest and activities such as sports fields, and other places requiring identification systems. [0003] Known automatic identification systems typically include ID tags carried by individuals, and ID tag reading devices. [0004] A known automatic identification system using radio frequency, so-called RFID (Radio Frequency Identification), comprises at least one transponder and at least one communicator. One known type of transponder would include an antenna, a modulator, memory, and modulator control logic. One such known transponder is designed to receive an output signal from a communicator and to reflect this signal in a modu...
