Problems solved by technology

However, identification of anatomical landmarks and user mapping of radiographic image data through image data takes a lot of time
Furthermore, such a procedure is error-prone since, for example, accurate identification of anatomical landmarks depends on the individual experience of the user
Therefore, it is also evident that the comparison of image data mapped by different users onto the neuroanatomical coordinate system, since the influence exerted by the individual user on the mapping can only be conditional

Embodiment Construction

[0028] Figure 1 shows an embodiment of a radiation system 1 that can be operated according to the method of the invention. The radiation system 1 here consists of a diagnostic station 2 and a modality 24 which can generate raw image data 19 of the brain of a patient or subject 21 . Examples of modality 24 are computed tomography or nuclear spin tomography. The recording device 20 , which is controlled by the control device 17 , generates raw image data 19 which are usually stored in the internal raw image data memory 18 of the modality 24 . Other systems, such as diagnostic station 2 , can access memory 18 and call up raw image data 19 . The modality 24 can have other components and features, such as image data processing means, image reconstruction means, image output means, keyboards or pointing means, but are not shown in FIG. 1 for reasons of clarity.

[0029] The further processing of the raw image data 19 usually takes place at the diagnostic station 2 , which does not...

Abstract

A method is described for projecting radiological image data of at least a part of a brain into a neuroanatomical coordinate system. To this end, anatomical reference marks in the initial radiological image data are determined in an automated fashion and a rotation and / or displacement of the initial radiological image data is carried out, with at least some of the anatomical reference marks in the rotated and / or displaced image data match corresponding anatomical reference marks in the neuroanatomical coordinate system. The rotated and / or displaced image data are then converted into the neuroanatomical coordinate system by a transformation. An image data processing device for projecting initial radiological image data according to the method and a radiological system having a corresponding image data processing device are also described.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for mapping starting radiographic image data of at least a portion of the brain into a neuroanatomical coordinate system. Furthermore, the invention relates to a corresponding image data processing device, which transfers starting radiographic image data into a neuroanatomical coordinate system according to such a method, and a radiology system having such an image data processing device. Background technique [0002] Imaging systems (also called "modalities") of medical technology such as X-ray systems, computed tomography or nuclear spin tomography, for example, are currently frequently used when examining the brain. The radiological image data produced by the imaging system is used, for example, to provide disease diagnosis, analyze changes in lesions, or plan surgical interventions. Furthermore, imaging systems are also used in clinical studies with large numbers of patients or subjects, in which commonali...
