Abstract

The liquid crystal display (LCD) device includes a LCD faceplate, a light sensor for sensing light signal of external light, a brightness control circuit (BCC), and a backlight circuit. The LCD faceplate includes a non-display area. The light sensor is setup on the non-display area of the LCD faceplate. Being in use for receiving light signal from the light sensor, BCC converts brightness of the light signal to the control signal. The backlight circuit receives the control signal to adjust brightness of the backlight. Based on change of external brightness, the LCD adjusts brightness of the backlight automatically. The invention also discloses a method for adjusting brightness of the backlight of the LCD device.

Description

【Technical field】

[0001] The invention relates to a liquid crystal display and a backlight brightness adjustment method thereof. 【Background technique】

[0002] At present, liquid crystal displays have gradually replaced traditional cathode ray tube (Cathode Ray Tube, CRT) displays used in calculators, and because liquid crystal displays are light, thin, and small, they are very suitable for use in desktop computers, Laptop computers, personal digital assistants (Personal Digital Assistant, PDA), portable phones, televisions and a variety of office automation and audio-visual equipment.

[0003] Please refer to FIG. 1 , which is a schematic diagram of a liquid crystal display disclosed in the prior art. The liquid crystal display 100 includes a drive controller 110, a power supply 150, a data driver 120 connected to the drive controller 110 and the power supply 150 respectively, a scan driver 130 connected to the drive controller 110 and the power supply 150 respectively ,...
