Benefits of technology

The present invention is related to a liquid dispenser that includes a flexible cover and a support member. The support member provides structural rigidity to the flexible cover and includes a cavity to receive the liquid container. The liquid container is preferably made of a flexible material, such as polycarbonate, nylon, or polyethylene. The flexible cover is lined with insulating material and a reflective vapor barrier material. The invention also includes a spout and a handle for easy use. Additionally, the invention includes a stand to support the dispenser. The technical effects of the invention include improved insulation, easy handling, and efficient dispensing of liquids.

Problems solved by technology

Most commercial beverage dispensers are made of hard plastic and tend to be heavy, even when empty.
While such dispensers may be lighter-weight than conventional commercial beverage dispensers made of hard plastic, they tend to lack rigidity and sufficient insulation.

Embodiment Construction

[0025] Reference will now be made in detail to the presently preferred embodiments of the invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. An effort has been made to use the same reference numbers throughout the drawings to refer to the same or like parts.

[0026]FIGS. 1 and 2 show a first embodiment of a liquid dispenser 10 according to the present invention. As illustrated in FIG. 2, the liquid dispenser 10 includes a liquid container 40 that is configured to fit within a support member 30.

[0027] The liquid container 40 and the support member 30 are enclosed by a cover 20. Both the support member 30 and the cover 20 provide thermal insulation for the liquid container 40, allowing the liquid dispenser 10 to be used for both hot and cold liquids.

[0028] The support member 30 in this example comprises an integrally formed frame with a cavity 32 configured to receive and enclose the side wall and bottom portions of the liquid container 40. In this way, the su...

Abstract

A liquid dispenser includes a liquid container enclosed by a support member that thermally insulates the container and provides rigidity for the overall structure. A cover encloses the support member and the liquid container, providing an added layer of insulation. Preferably, lightweight materials are used for the support and the liquid container. Materials for the support may include, for example, EPP, EPS or Arcel® material. Materials for the liquid container may include, for example, of polycarbonate, nylon, SAN, and polyethylene.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION [0001] 1. Field of the Invention [0002] The present invention relates to a liquid dispenser and, more particularly, to an insulated liquid dispenser. [0003] 2. Description of Related Art [0004] Commercial beverage dispensers are used to provide liquid at select locations. Typically these beverage dispensers must be more durable than beverage dispensers intended for use in the home. Most commercial beverage dispensers are made of hard plastic and tend to be heavy, even when empty. [0005] Liquid beverage dispensers housed within soft-sided bags have been utilized. While such dispensers may be lighter-weight than conventional commercial beverage dispensers made of hard plastic, they tend to lack rigidity and sufficient insulation. Consequently, they are primarily intended for use with cold beverages. [0006] It would be desirable to provide a lightweight, durable dispenser that is suitable for use with cold or hot beverages. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION [0007] An...
