The excisional device shown in FIGS. 1-7 is described in commonly assigned U.S. Pat. No. 6,022,362 and in commonly assigned and co-pending application Ser. No. 10 / 189,277, filed Jul. 3, 2002, which patent and application are hereby incorporated herein by reference in their entireties. Although embodiments of the present invention are described relative to a cavity created by the excisional device shown in FIGS. 1-7, it is to be understood that the present inventions are not to be limited thereby. Indeed, embodiments of the present invention may be advantageously utilized to treat cavities of various shapes and sizes created by other devices, including devices that obtain tissue specimen through coring or ablation techniques, for example.
