[0015]The invention as described herein may be associated with any type of personal electronic device, but, for purposes of explanation, embodiments for an electronic cigarette or vaporizer will be used as an example. These will be referred to herein as the “device”. The invention provides a means to associate a unique network IP address or other unique electronic identifier with a device to provide communication capabilities which will allow the exchange of operational and control data between the device and other, remotely-connected devices.
