Benefits of technology

The present invention provides a fan structure with a reduced space occupancy for the electronic component, allowing for a slimmer fan design without compromising air intake. The electronic component is also visible from the outer appearance, making maintenance and repair easier. Additionally, the circuit board of the invention includes a second portion that serves as a lead wire, reducing the need for soldering. These technical effects make the fan structure more efficient, cost-effective, and easier to maintain.

Problems solved by technology

As electronic information products, such as computers, are widely adapted in various fields and applications, the high demands for such products continuously drive the electronic information industry to grow and development rapidly along with greater computation speeds and increased storage capacities, which also tends to cause the generation of high temperatures during the high speed operations of the components in the electronic information products.
For example, in a computer host machine, the central processing unit (CPU) inside the machine generates most of the heat of the machine; furthermore, when the heat generated by the central processing unit gradually builds up, the performance of the machine is likely to be affected and reduced, which can cause the computer to break down or even damages to the computer if the buildup of the heat becomes significant.
Typical fan structures mostly arrange the electronic components of the circuit board to be directly underneath the coil assembly (stator) of the motor; however, with such configuration, the electronic components occupy the space in the axial direction of the motor such that the height of the fan blade cannot be reduced, which then further affects the air intake thereof.
Furthermore, by arranging the electronic components directly underneath the coil assembly (stator), the electronic components cannot be visibly seen from the outer appearance, which causes the maintenance and repair of the circuit to be difficult, in addition to that the lead wire portion needs to be additionally soldered onto the circuit board such that the additional soldering of the manufacturing process is required.

second embodiment

[0053]As shown in FIG. 4, in this embodiment, the circuit board 2 is a flexible printed circuit board. The circuit board 2 is disposed on the base 1. The circuit board 2 is divided into a first portion 22 and a second portion 23, and the first portion 22 is arranged underneath the coil assembly 3. The second portion 23 is of a rectangular plate shape, and one end of the second portion 23 is connected to an edge of the first portion; the second portion 23 is arranged inside the base 1. The electronic component 21 is arranged on the second portion 23 inside the base 1 in order to allow the electronic component 21 to be arranged at an area outside another area directly underneath the coil assembly 3.

third embodiment

[0054]As shown in FIG. 5, in this embodiment, the circuit board 2 is a rigid printed circuit board (hard board), and the circuit board is disposed on the base 1. The circuit board 2 includes an electronic component 21. The electronic component 21 is located at an area underneath the fan blade 4, and the electronic component 21 is arranged at an area outside another area directly underneath the coil assembly 3.

fourth embodiment

[0055]As shown in FIG. 6, the present embodiment discloses a typical fan, and the bearing assembly 5 comprises an axle center 51 and a bearing 52. The axle center 51 is arranged at the center of the fan blade 4. The base 1 includes an axle sleeve 54 secured thereon. The bearing 52 is received inside the bearing sleeve 54, and the axle center 51 penetrates into the bearing 52 in order to allow the fan blade 4 to be pivotally attached to the internal of the fan by using the axle center 51 and the bearing 52.

[0056]In this embodiment, the circuit board 2 is a rigid printed circuit board, and the circuit board 2 is arranged on the base 1. The circuit board 2 includes an electronic component 21 disposed thereon. The electronic component 21 is at an area underneath the fan blade 4, and the electronic component 21 is arranged at an area outside another area directly underneath the coil assembly 3.

Abstract

A fan structure includes a base, a circuit board, a coil assembly, a fan blade and a bearing assembly. The circuit board is arranged on the base and includes an electronic component disposed thereon. The coil assembly is arranged on the base and electrically connected to the circuit board; the electronic component is arranged at an area outside of another area directly underneath the coil assembly. The internal of the fan blade includes a magnet; a bearing assembly is provided for the fan blade pivotally attached to the base therewith; the magnet is disposed at an external of the coil assembly. Therefore, the electronic component would not occupy the space in the axial direction of the motor in order to reduce the height of the fan blade without affecting air intake; the electronic component is visible from the outer appearance such that the repair of the circuit is facilitated.
