This invention provides a method and
system for evaluating the ergonomics of age-friendly environments in communities. The method includes the following steps: determining the
community's
pedestrian network and the activity scenarios of the elderly; mapping the shortest paths from building entrances to each activity
scenario as access routes; determining the importance of each road segment based on the type and number of elderly residents in each building; calculating the physiological burden value of walking length, the rest burden reduction coefficient, and the thermal environment coefficient for each road segment using its length, the number of rest points, and
community weather data, thereby determining the comprehensive physiological burden value of walking for each road segment; calculating the comprehensive perceived burden value of walking for each road segment; and integrating the comprehensive physiological burden value, comprehensive perceived burden value, and importance of each road segment at different times to calculate the age-friendliness index of each road segment, based on which the age-friendliness of the
community is assessed. Based on the age-friendliness assessment, targeted modifications can be made to improve the age-
friendly environment of the community.
