Systems and methods of automated doppler ultrasound quantification for vascular applications

PCT designated stageWO2025245631A9Blood flow measurement devicesInfrasonic diagnosticsVascular ultrasoundPerfusion
Systems and methods are provided for reducing the reliance on operator skill during vascular ultrasound procedures. The placement of an ultrasound probe to assess perfusion associated with a wound may be facilitated by receiving input suitable for identifying an anatomical region associated with the wound and providing an indication of a suitable initial probe position, and optionally, probe orientation, for acoustically interrogating a target arterial vessel known to provide perfusion to the anatomical region associated with the wound. Regions exhibiting arterial flow may be detected as the probe is moved, enabling arterial vessel detection and localization. A subregion within the detected arterial vessel and a beam steering angle may be autonomously determined for spectral Doppler data collection, enabling the measurement of hemodynamic measures associated with the arterial vessel. Example apparatus for securing the probe to the patient and facilitating probe positioning to search for a target vessel are disclosed.

System and method for automatic doppler ultrasound quantification for vascular applications

Systems and methods for reducing dependency on operator skills in a vascular ultrasound procedure are provided. By receiving an input suitable for identifying an anatomical region associated with a wound and providing an indication of an appropriate initial probe position, and optionally a probe orientation, to acoustically explore a target arterial blood vessel known to provide perfusion for the anatomical region associated with the wound, placement of an ultrasound probe may be facilitated to assess perfusion associated with the wound. When the probe moves, the area displaying the arterial blood flow can be detected, so that the arterial blood vessel can be detected and positioned. The detected sub-regions and beam deflection angles within the arterial blood vessel can be automatically determined in order to acquire spectral Doppler data so that hemodynamic metrics associated with the arterial blood vessel can be measured. An exemplary instrument for securing a probe to a patient and facilitating probe positioning to search for a target blood vessel is disclosed.

M-type and spectrum Doppler ultrasound-based fetal craniocerebral diagnosis method for arrhythmia

The invention discloses an arrhythmia fetal craniocerebral diagnosis method based on M-type and spectrum Doppler ultrasound, and relates to the technical field of fetal ultrasonic medical imaging diagnos. The method comprises the steps that M-type and spectrum Doppler information of a fetal craniocerebral is collected, after time domain segmentation and space registration, structural motion and blood flow fluctuation characteristics are synchronously analyzed in each independent unit, and the M-type and spectrum Doppler information of the fetal craniocerebral is obtained; and generating a primary risk feature map. And through cross-unit topology diffusion and iterative feedback operation, adjacent areas are constrained by determined abnormal units, a global risk distribution diagram is obtained through circular updating, and a risk accumulation area is identified and a diagnosis report is generated. According to the method, algorithm-level synchronous fusion of the structure and the blood flow information is realized, and the recognition sensitivity of the hidden anomaly is improved; and through space iterative optimization, the coherence and gradient evaluation of the risk area is realized, and the objectivity and integrity of diagnosis are improved.

A method for analyzing a structure within a patient's heart includes receiving a patient study including multiple transthoracic and / or transesophageal echocardiographic images of the patient's heart obtained by an ultrasound device. The method includes extracting sets of pixel data from the images and analyzing the sets of pixel data using multiple trained machine learning algorithms to: a) identify images captured using a color Doppler modality and assign one or more of the images to a structure; b) identify images captured using a spectral Doppler modality and assign one or more of the images to a structure; c) determine a radius R of an inflow convergence zone from analysis of the color Doppler modality images assigned to the structure; and d) determine a maximum gradient PVreg of the structure from analysis of the spectral Doppler modality images assigned to the structure. The radius R of the inflow convergence zone, the maximum gradient PVreg of the structure, and the Nyquist value Va determined for the color Doppler modality are combined to determine an effective regurgitant valve area EROA for the structure.

Unwrapped spectral doppler envelope tracking in medical ultrasound

For spectral Doppler imaging, the search range for tracking the spectral envelope is dynamically set. The limits of the search envelope are established by a spectral-by-spectral placement between frequency bands. This search can be aided by plotting the spectrum from 0 to 2π. The limits vary over time to better separate the frequency bands, thus avoiding aliasing for subsequent tracking.
