World's fastest multi-tap phone and control means

This invention relates to a multi-tap and combinational alphanumeric data entry on a 12 key device. The [1] key on is labeled with the “.QZ”. Numbers are produced by activating ten numbered keys. Activating the [#] key backspaces. Activating the [*] key one or more times enters an alphabet mode. Activating [1]-[9] keys once produces left data, twice produces middle data and three times produces right data. Activating the [1] then [*] keys produces the “-” dash. Alternatively, simultaneously activating [1]-[9] keys and a left [*] key produces left data, simultaneously activating [1]-[9] keys and a middle [0] key produces middle data and simultaneously activating [1]-[9] keys and a right [#] key produces right data. Activating the [#] key enters a data character for the next data entry on the same previously activated key. Activating the [*] key, after entering a data character, produces the shift function. Activating the [*] key twice produces the backspace function. Activating the [0] key produces a space. Activating the [0] key twice produces a Tab or Enter function. Activating the [#] key twice re-enters the number mode. Activating the [#] and [*] keys enters a first punctuation/symbol mode, where activating [1]-[9] or [0] keys produces left data. Activating the [#] and [*] keys and the [*] again enters a second punctuation/symbol mode, where activating [1]-[9] or [0] keys produces middle data. Activating the [#] and [*] keys and the [*] two more times enters a third punctuation/symbol mode, where activating [1]-[9] or [0] keys produces right data. The alphabetic mode is automatically re-entered into after the punctuation mark or symbol is produced. An entered punctuation mark is followed by a space. Activating the [*] key after the punctuation mark and space is produced, deletes the space after the punctuation mark. Activating the [0] key after a period and space is produced, deletes the space after the period. Simultaneous two key entry increases data input speed by reducing the amount of entries required.

Multi-interface selection method and multi-interface selection circuit based on keyboard scan and display driving chip

A multi-interface selection method based on a keyboard scan and display driving chip includes the steps: a, dividing intersections of an NXN array into n key positions and m jumper wire positions, enabling the m jumper wire positions to form a plurality of jumper wire position state combinations by selecting short connecting circuit lines, writing corresponding interfaces and functional subprograms according to functional requirements of a series of machine types adopting an MCU (microprogrammed control unit), and enabling the subprograms to be in one-to-one correspondence to the jumper wire position state combinations to be stored in a storage of a master control board; and b, obtaining key numbers on a PCB (printed circuit board) and binary values of jumper wire position state combinations by means of keyboard scan after an operating panel PCB of one machine type of a series of machine types is connected with the master control board through a communication interface, and utilizing the MCU to invoke the corresponding interface and subprograms according to the binary values and to switch to the corresponding interfaces, so that functional operation of the corresponding keys is completed. The universal master control board is employed, only one-time programming is needed, development of a novel machine type is facilitated, the method is suitable for batch production, and debugging and after-sale maintenance are facilitated.

Apparatus and method for reducing electromigration

An apparatus and method therefor wherein instead of applying a high bias voltage 100 per cent of the time to leads susceptible to dendrite formation, the bias voltage is switched from a low bias voltage to a high voltage bias mode when the leads (19) are to be read or scanned by a microprocessor (14), and the bias voltage is then switched back to a low bias voltage mode when the lines are not being read, e.g., at other times, thereby greatly reducing the high bias “on” time and dramatically reducing the probability of dendrite formation. The reduction of high bias voltage “on” time is accomplished by programming the microprocessor (14) to switch the applicable input ports (16) to be output ports when the leads (19) are not to be read. As output ports, the output impedance and output voltage of the microprocessor are low as opposed to a high input impedance when the terminals are input terminals. When the leads are configured as output leads, the voltage division of the microprocessor low output impedance, in combination with a large valued pull-up resistor (12) which provides the high bias voltage when the leads are input leads, makes the voltage bias on the leads low, thus greatly reducing the probability of dendrite formation.
