Embodiment Construction

[0015] For a better understanding of the present context, a forward part 1 of an autoinjector with a syringe 2 accommodated therein is shown in FIG. 1 . Before using the autoinjector, the forward part 1 is combined by means of a bayonet connector with a drive part (not shown) containing the elements necessary to perform the injection automatically, in particular a spring. The injection needle of this syringe 2 is covered in a known manner with a protective needle shield 3 placed thereon. The device of the invention is used to remove the protective needle shield 3 before use of the autoinjector and to replace the shield after use of the autoinjector. For this purpose, the present invention uses the assembly and disassembly process of the autoinjector before and after injection, respectively.

[0016] The device 30 shown in FIGS. 2-5 consists of a housing 4 closed at the bottom by a housing bottom 5 held by means of a stop 21 which engages the opening 15 of the housing 4 . The...

Abstract

Disclosed is a curved sleeve (6) that is rotatable by a certain angle within a housing (4). An injection apparatus comprising a protective needle cap that is placed thereupon is inserted into the curved sleeve (6) so as to join the forward part thereof to the drive part thereof. The curved sleeve (6) partially rotates along with the injection apparatus and presses in clamping pieces (7) by means of a curved section (18) when the injection apparatus is twisted, said clamping pieces (7) retaining the protective needle cap. The injection apparatus is inserted back into the curved sleeve (6) and is twisted in the opposite direction so as to be disassembled upon being used, the protective needle cap being released again so as to be removed together with the injection apparatus.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a device for temporarily holding a protective needle shield of an injection device, comprising a housing, a container part arranged in the housing for receiving said injection device, and a holding mechanism. Background technique [0002] For injector devices that are typically manually operated, the protective needle shield is typically removed by hand before use and replaced by hand after use. During the above procedure, the user runs a considerable risk of being injured by the used needle. For this reason different tools have been proposed for removing and especially putting back the protective needle shield, all of which however require a separate operating step. Contents of the invention [0003] The object of the present invention is to propose a device by means of which the protective needle shield is removed and then put back again in a processing step which is necessary in any case to prepare the injection device. ...
