The method comprises: receiving the data packet from Ethernet; comparing the length of the Ethernet data packet with a predetermined value; if it is more than the predetermined value, then ending the conversion process; if not, then continuing the process; getting the address of radio sensor network corresponding to the destination address of the Ethernet data packet to construct the data packet of the radio sensor network; ending the conversion process. The invention also reveals an apparatus thereof. The invention can be used in the data transmission between IPV5 Ethernet network and the ZIGBEE radio sensor network.
