Abstract

An endoscope has an adhesive (20) and a heat shrinkable tube (25). The adhesive (20) is applied to a portion (S) to be repaired having occurred with use, the portion (S) being on the outer surface of a flexible tube (15) inserted into a body cavity. The heat shrinkable tube (25) is fitted, with a space in between, over and so as to be opposite the portion (S) to be repaired, to which the adhesive(20) is applied, and fixed on the outer surface of the flexible tube (15) in an intimate manner by heat shrinkage through the adhesive (20). This way the endoscope where the portion (S) to be repaired occurring with use can be repaired relatively easily and simply and a method of repairing the endoscope are provided.
