Embodiment Construction

[0026]Fig. 1 shows a schematic diagram, not drawn to scale, of a part of an inventively claimed device 1 according to a first embodiment. The device 1 claimed in the present invention relates in particular to a microfluidic system, preferably in the shape of a disc, preferably a compact disc (CD) or the like, so as to be rotatable about the axis of rotation 2 shown in FIG. produce centrifugal force. Of course other structures and embodiments are also possible.

[0027] The device 1 claimed in the invention is used for testing a sample liquid 3, in particular by ELISA method. Thus, the following description pertains essentially to the use and performance of the ELISA method, where necessary supplementary or alternative measurements or method steps may be performed. However, the device 1 as claimed in the present invention or the method as claimed in the present invention can basically also be used for other tests or methods.

Abstract

Disclosed are a device and a method for analyzing a sample liquid, particularly the ELISA method being very easy, fast, and highly accurate to carry out. According to the invention, a sample liquid and a diluting liquid are fed to several dosing chambers having different volumes such that the sample liquid can be diluted into associated reaction chambers at different dilution ratios in a dilution step. Different liquids can be delivered successively to the reaction chambers by means of a common receiving chamber. The liquids are transferred from the reaction chambers into associated test chambers in order to stop the detection reaction.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a device and a method for testing a sample liquid, in particular by the ELISA method. [0002] The present invention is concerned with microfluidic systems or devices having structures with dimensions of substantially 1 to 1000 μm and / or cavities each having a volume of substantially 1 to 1000 μl. The following description applies specifically to devices or methods where capillary, pressure and / or centrifugal forces come into play and are especially critical to operation. Background technique [0003] The term "ELISA" comes from English and means "enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay)". In the present invention, the term should be understood in terms of a method in which an enzyme binds an analyte, more specifically a complex of an analyte and an antibody. By the enzyme in the detection reaction, the substrate is modified or converted into a detection substrate, specifically a fluorescen...
