Abstract

A lamp with an inner envelope having lead wires, comprising an outer envelope, a lamp base at an end of the outer envelope, a stem formed on the base at a predetermined position relative to the outer envelope of the lamp, and protruding from the stem the outer leads. The inner envelope has a constricted portion and an inner lead protruding from the inner envelope at least partially parallel to a central plane of the constricted portion. The inner and outer leads form a lead pair that provides a mechanical and electrical connection between the stem and the inner envelope. Each lead wire pair includes a substantially straight wire of a predetermined diameter and a wound wire having a winding inner diameter not smaller than the predetermined diameter, and the lead wire pair is installed by pushing the straight wire through the center of the wound wire.
