The invention discloses a detection method of a high-temperature heat source, comprising that the incident radiation of a target to be detected is decomposed into the visible light spectrum radiation and the near-infrared spectrum radiation; images of the visible light spectrum radiation and the near-infrared spectrum radiation are collected; whether the high-temperature heat source is contained in the target to be detected or not is judged according to the collected images of the visible light spectrum radiation and the near-infrared spectrum radiation. The invention further discloses a detection device of the high-temperature heat source, comprising a beam splitting prism, a first back-and-white CCD sensor, a second back-and-white CCD sensor and a diagnostic unit of the high-temperatureheat source. The detection device can effectively detect the high-temperature heat source of the target to be detected when the radiation of the high-temperature heat source with the temperature range of 800K to 2000K is similar to the apparent strength of the background noise radiation within the response interval of the sensors through the technical proposal of two lines of CCD and the beam splitting prism.
