Problems solved by technology

In order to determine the signal direction, it is necessary to install an intelligent array antenna system on the base station antenna, which will bring huge costs
In addition, the AOA algorithm is greatly affected by the environmental factors of the non-visual range (None-Line-Of-Sight, NLOS)

no. 1 Embodiment

[0048] The first specific embodiment uses Figure 3A Positioning system 4 in the description of how to determine the location of the mobile device Figure 4 Position in P 1 Or position P 2 .

[0049] In this embodiment, the first wireless communication module 40 includes M first antennas, and the second wireless communication module 42 includes N second antennas, where both M and N are integers greater than or equal to 1, and N is not equal to M. The storage module 442 stores M first antenna gain tables corresponding to M first antennas and N second antenna gain tables corresponding to N second antennas. The first antenna gain table or the second antenna gain table such as Figure 5 Shown.

[0050] At the beginning of positioning, the first and second wireless communication modules 40, 42 use TOA to locate the mobile device to be positioned to obtain d 1 , D 2 , Θ 1 , Θ 2 , Θ 3 , Θ 4 Value, where θ 1 , Θ 2 , Θ 3 , Θ 4 It can be obtained by the aforementioned method. At the same t...

Abstract

The invention discloses a positioning system. An antenna-assisted positioning method is adopted to realize two-point positioning for positioning algorithms which use TOA and RSS. Compared with the known AOA algorithm, the invention has the following advantages when applied to two-point positioning: (1) more accurate positioning; (2) farther positioning distance and wider range; (3) lower cost; and (4) higher reliability.

Description

Technical field [0001] The invention relates to a positioning system, and in particular to a positioning system that uses an antenna-assisted positioning method to realize two-point positioning. Background technique [0002] Generally speaking, the three-point positioning method used in wireless communication is the most commonly used, such as the use of time of arrival (TOA) algorithm, received signal strength (RSS) algorithm and other related positioning technologies ,Such as Figure 1A Shown. Regardless of the TOA algorithm or the RSS algorithm, three base stations must be used to locate the mobile device. In other words, if the TOA algorithm or RSS algorithm is used in two-point positioning, it will not be able to accurately determine the location of the mobile device, such as Figure 1B Shown. [0003] When performing two-point positioning on a mobile device, the more commonly used is the Angle of Arrival (AOA) algorithm, such as figure 2 Shown. The AOA algorithm measures t...
