Abstract

The invention provides a method for realizing the geometric correction of remote sensing images by utilizing a weighted polynomial model, and belongs to the technical field of information processing. The method carries out the geometric correction of the remote sensing images according to the following steps: firstly, collecting the error messages of control points; calculating the weight factor of each control point so as to regenerate a weight matrix; then, calculating the parameter vector of the weighted geometric correction model; and finally, calculating coordinates by using the weighted polynomial model and resampling the original image so as to obtain a corrected image. Compared with the prior geometric correction methods which are based on an empirical model, the method has the advantage that control points of different precisions can be used in geometric correction at the same time; and compared with the traditional common polynomial model geometry correction methods, the invention further has an obvious improvement in precision while carrying out the geometric correction of the remote sensing images by utilizing the control points of different precisions.
